Nicole is a demigod who can kill with a touch and that's a dangerous information that she is hesitant to share, even with her almost-boyfriend. She would certainly be punished and stripped of her powers by the witch leaders!
After a series of strange events that include some very bad mythical creatures escaping from their perpetual prisons she, Blake and three others must risk their necks in order to prevent any more disaster. They'll have to use their elemental powers in order to save each other along the way, the problem is that their destiny is uncertain. Will they survive this quest? Will they be able to complete their tasks? How long will Nicole have to keep her secret ability hidden from the ones she trusts the most.
The first thing I have to say about this book is that I utterly love it! It's fast paced and has a very very rich plot that makes you want to go on a quest, just as the main characters.
One thing that is really evident when you compare it with the previous book is that the characters evolved, mainly Nicole, and that their relationship is starting to get deep in terms of camaraderie and overall union, what I mean is that they're starting to become a team!
The way the characters are build leads you to the conclusion that, even if Nicole is the main character the other are almost as important to the action as her, not being shoved to the background as secondary characters that you easily forget about, in fact, you will be conquered by their unique passion and the way they tend to express their emotions!
Another thing that's noticeable is the amount of investigation and attention to detail from the author's part, every detail is very real and it helps you get into the amazing world that's inscribed in the pages of the work itself.
I advise everyone to check this book (and this series) out! I have great hopes for the future and I hope that you'll appreciate it as much as I do!

A demigod who can kill with a touch. It’s an ability that must be kept secret from everyone, even from those trusted most.
Finding out that she was a witch was strange enough, but now Nicole must face the realization that she has the rare power to kill with just a touch. No one can know her secret—not even Blake, who she’s had undeniable chemistry with since first moving to town.
Now Nicole, Blake, and the three others with elemental powers must stop a series of monsters that they previously believed to be dead from rising once again and destroying the mortal world. The creatures they face on this journey will be more dangerous than anything they’ve encountered yet. Will they all survive the quest? And how long will it be until Nicole is forced to use her ability to kill in front of everyone, revealing the true darkness of her powers?
Find out in The Blood of the Hydra, and join the Elementals on their next journey in their quest to save the world—or die trying.
