The Coffee Book Tag

Hello guys! As I was watching The Book Hoarder's Coffe Book Tag she said she tagged everyone who wanted to do it, so I thought it would make a nice post!
So here's my Coffee Book Tag!

1. Black: Name a series that's tough to get into but has hardcore fans.
A Song of Ice and Fire (a.k.a. Game of Thrones) by George R.R. Martin
Even if I'm already into this series fan base I have to recognize that it's a though one to get into. The first book is a tid bit intimidating and discourages lots of people, one example of this is my father.
Some time after I started reading the books and passing the days trying to convince my family to read them my dad finally sucumbed and asked me to read the first book (in my country the series is divided into ten books). I was extremely happy to lend it to him, in my head I was finally going to have a fan partner to whom I could talk about the series with (this was before the TV show).
A week after I had lent him the book my father calls me and asks "Why are all these people dying? *SPOILER* was my favorite!" after that he started to ask me about the fate of some characthers and I started saying things like "burnt to death", "decapitated", etc... After sometime he turns to me, hands me the book and says "I'm sorry but I give up!".
This event made me realize that this series (the books, not the series) is only for dedicated and brave fans who can stand high quantities of death, torture, suspence and things not going our way.

2. Peppermint mocha: Name a book that gets more popular during the winter or a festive time of year.
22914373
My True Love Gave to Me curated by Stephanie Perkins
When the weather gets cold and Christmas is at the door this book starts flying of the shelves and, even if still haven't read it, it's still a very big wish of mine to do it. What's better than a cozy romantic book for a cozy time like Christmas and winter?

3. Hot chocolate: What is your favorite children's book?
Children often need good examples in order to behave well or someone who understands them and does all the things they cannot do in order to allow them to dream bigger. Percy is just that. He teaches children about good and evil, Greek myths and the true meaning of friendship and love. This is all done while they experience a mind blowing age appropriate tale that they can really enjoy, not even knowing what they're learning.

4. Double shot of espresso: Name a book that kept you on the edge of your seat from start to finish.
25494343Lady Midnight by Cassandra Clare
I don't know why but since I read The Mortal Instruments series for the first time this author has grabbed my heart and soul and almost everything she writes grabs my focus immediately. This book made me love, hate and suffer like no other had before and the ending... oh, the ending!

5. Starbucks: Name a book you see everywhere.
22557272The Girl On The Train by Paula Hawkins
This book is literaly everywhere (even on my shelves)! Since it came out it has been a sales success and is always on the bestsellers self on my local bookshop. I still haven't read it and, to be honest, I have very low expectations for this book.

6. That hipster coffee shop: Give a book by an indie author a shoutout
19504931Under Different Stars by Amy A. Bartol
I absolutely love this series! This book swept me of my feet and I have to tell you that it's beautifully writen and that I think that it's highly undervalued.
Kricket Hollowell is normally not one to wish upon stars; she believes they’re rarely in her favor. Well versed at dodging caseworkers from Chicago’s foster care system, the past few years on her own have made Kricket an expert at the art of survival and blending in. With her 18th birthday fast approaching, she dreams of the day when she can stop running and find what her heart needs most: a home.
Trey Allairis hates Earth and doubts that anyone from his world can thrive here. What he’s learning of Kricket and her existence away from her true home only confirms his theory. But, when he and Kricket lie together under the stars of Ethar, counting them all may be easier than letting her go.
Kyon Ensin’s secrets number the stars; he knows more about Kricket's gifts than anyone and plans to possess her because of them. He also knows she’s more valuable than any fire in the night sky. He’ll move the heavens and align them all in order to make her his own.
When everything in their world can be broken, will Kricket rely upon love to save her under different stars?
Here's my review of the book:  Under Different Stars by Amy A. Bartol

7. Oops! I accidentally got decaf: Name a book you were expecting more from.
Don't get me wrong I liked this book and I actually ejoyed reading it! Still, I have to admit that I had very high expectations for it and they were not met.

8. The perfect blend: Name a book or series that was both bitter and sweet but ultimately satisfying.
8667848Honestly I can't remember one but since I cannot do it I'll recommend you one of the best series I have ever read: The All Souls Trilogy by Deborah Harkness.
Here's the summary of the first book:
Deep in the stacks of Oxford's Bodleian Library, young scholar Diana Bishop unwittingly calls up a bewitched alchemical manuscript in the course of her research. Descended from an old and distinguished line of witches, Diana wants nothing to do with sorcery; so after a furtive glance and a few notes, she banishes the book to the stacks. But her discovery sets a fantastical underworld stirring, and a horde of daemons, witches, and vampires soon descends upon the library. Diana has stumbled upon a coveted treasure lost for centuries-and she is the only creature who can break its spell.

I tag all of you who are reading this that to do it!
Love, Ana

Fall Time Cozy Book Tag

Hi guys! Today it's tag day! I was tagged by Miranda @Miranda's Book Blog and I'm so excited to be doing this! Thank you Miranda for tagging me!

This tag was created by Sam from Novel and Nonsense.

Crunchy Leaves! The world is full of colors. Choose a book that has reds, oranges or yellows on the cover.

"Minha Querida Inês" by Margarida Rebelo Pinto
The last days of the greatest Portuguese romantic heroine. A story that will make you fall in love, but also cry. You'll never see another love like this.
"Minha Querida Inês" (My Dear Inês) it's the outcome of a deep historic investigation mixed with Margarida Rebelo Pinto's passion for strong women, whose presence is noted in almost all of her work. The Inês protraited in this book is a brave and passionate and is not afraid to talk about her intimate life and her thoughts on love, family, God and the world.
Inês dies for love. If she wanted to steal the kingdom or she was just a victim of political unrest, we'll never know. The Inês that's in the book it's a whole woman, flesh and bone, with a head, a heart and a stomach, who feels and thinks ahead of her times and, for that, wise and timeless.

I chose this book because it's one of my favorites! I'm sorry if the synopsis isn't very good but I had to translate it from Portuguese. I know the cover seems to be missing the reds but you must notice the bodice of her dress and, in my copy, the title is in metallic red.
Cozy Jumper! It's finally cold enough to don warm, cozy clothing. What book gives you the warm fuzzies?

Lick (Stage Dive #1)by Kylie Scott
18761654
Evelyn Thomas's plans for celebrating her twenty-first birthday in Las Vegas were big. Huge. But she sure never meant to wake up on the bathroom floor with a hangover to rival the black plague, a very attractive half-naked tattooed man in her room, and a diamond on her finger large enough to scare King Kong. Now if she could just remember how it all happened.
In Kylie Scott's Lick, one thing is certain: being married to one of the hottest rock stars on the planet is sure to be a wild ride.

This book gives me all that warm and cozy love feelings that I love! It even has lots of sexy moments! And do you know what's even better? I plan on re-reading it soon, in order to review it.
If you're okay whith sex scenes in books then I really advise you to read this fantastic book!

Fall Storm! The wind is howling and the rain is pounding. Choose your favorite book or genre that you like to read on a stormy day.

I love to read fantasy and YA when the rain is pounding on my window! Here are a few favourites!

Abandon by Meg Cabot

10848294Though she tries returning to the life she knew before the accident, Pierce can't help but feel at once a part of this world, and apart from it. Yet she's never alone . . . because someone is always watching her. Escape from the realm of the dead is impossible when someone there wants you back.
But now she's moved to a new town. Maybe at her new school, she can start fresh. Maybe she can stop feeling so afraid.
Only she can't. Because even here, he finds her. That's how desperately he wants her back. She knows he's no guardian angel, and his dark world isn't exactly heaven, yet she can't stay away . . . especially since he always appears when she least expects it, but exactly when she needs him most.
But if she lets herself fall any further, she may just find herself back in the one place she most fears: the Underworld.

Wicked by Jennifer L. Armentrout

23356038
Twenty-two year old Ivy Morgan isn’t your average college student. She, and others like her, know humans aren’t the only thing trolling the French Quarter for fun… and for food. Her duty to the Order is her life. After all, four years ago, she lost everything at the hands of the creatures she’d sworn to hunt, tearing her world and her heart apart.
Ren Owens is the last person Ivy expected to enter her rigidly controlled life. He’s six feet and three inches of temptation and swoon-inducing charm. With forest-green eyes and a smile that’s surely left a stream of broken hearts in its wake, he has an uncanny, almost unnatural ability to make her yearn for everything he has to offer. But letting him in is as dangerous as hunting the cold-blooded killers stalking the streets. Losing the boy she loved once before had nearly destroyed her, but the sparking tension that grows between them becomes impossible for Ivy to deny. Deep down, she wants… she needs more than what her duty demands of her, what her past has shaped for her.
But as Ivy grows closer to Ren, she realizes she’s not the only one carrying secrets that could shatter the frail bond between them. There’s something he’s not telling her, and one thing is for certain. She’s no longer sure what is more dangerous to her—the ancient beings threatening to take over the town or the man demanding to lay claim to her heart and her soul.
Cool Crisp Air. Who's the coolest character you'd want to trade places with?

That would be Clary Fray, on The Mortal Instruments Series by Cassandra Clare!
I love how fearless and strong she is and I would love to be an artist that battles demons. In my mind I'll always be a Shadowhunter!

Hot Apple Cider. What under-hyped book do you want to see become the next biggest, hottest thing?

Coats, Scarves and Mittens. The weather has turned cold and it's time to cover up. What's the most embarrassing book cover you own that you like to keep hidden in public?
256683

When fifteen-year-old Clary Fray heads out to the Pandemonium Club in New York City, she hardly expects to witness a murder― much less a murder committed by three teenagers covered with strange tattoos and brandishing bizarre weapons. Then the body disappears into thin air. It's hard to call the police when the murderers are invisible to everyone else and when there is nothing―not even a smear of blood―to show that a boy has died. Or was he a boy?
This is Clary's first meeting with the Shadowhunters, warriors dedicated to ridding the earth of demons. It's also her first encounter with Jace, a Shadowhunter who looks a little like an angel and acts a lot like a jerk. Within twenty-four hours Clary is pulled into Jace's world with a vengeance, when her mother disappears and Clary herself is attacked by a demon. But why would demons be interested in ordinary mundanes like Clary and her mother? And how did Clary suddenly get the Sight? The Shadowhunters would like to know...
Exotic and gritty, exhilarating and utterly gripping, Cassandra Clare's ferociously entertaining fantasy takes readers on a wild ride that they will never want to end.
Sooooo.... I know that, for you, this cover might not be embarrassing and awkward to read in public but you have to consider that, in my country, this is not a very known book series so when my friends saw this cover they asked me "What is that book about? Sex? Is that Erotica?". All of that because there is a shirtless guy on the cover. CLICK HERE to read my review of this book.

Pumpkin Spiced Latte. What's your favorite Fall Time comfort food or drink?
My favourite Fall Time confort food are chestnuts and the drink is a mix of Peppermint and Green Tea.

Warm, Cozy Bonfire. Spread the cozy warmth! Who do you tag?

Disney Princess Book Tag

Hi guys! Today I'm doing a tag called "The Disney Princess Book Tag"! This tag was created by a fellow blogger called Shouda on the Of Stacks and Cups blog (click the blog name to see the original tag).
Thank you Shouda for tagging me! I will follow what she wrote and I hope I can do this thing right!

My Disney Princess Facts:
1. My favourite Disney Princess is Pocahontas because she's an independent strong woman!
2. I now almost all the Disney Princesses songs by heart and some in English, Portuguese, Spanish and French... I know I have a problem, a very serious one!
3. Besides Pocahontas I really like Belle, I think the reason is a bit obvious, and Esmeralda, from the Hunchback of Notre Dame, some people think she's not a princess but you don't need a crown to be a princess!

Let's get started! I hope I'm able to do this right!

1. Snow White - Name your favorite classic

So I think this might seem a little cliche but my favourite classic novel is Northanger Abbey by Jane Austen!
This book is so well written and has so many awesome details that take you on a trip to a diferent world that you might never had known!

2. Cinderella - Name a book that kept you reading well past your bedtime

So I have an addiction for Greek Mithology and I mixed that with a Meg Cabot book and I think you know what the outcome was... I stayed up all night reading this book just because it is completely astonishing!
Abandon is a series of books that talk about the myth of Persephone but in real life in our times! I can't even describe how breathtaking this book is!

3. Aurora - Name your favorite classic romance

And now comes the cliche of all cliches: my favourite classic romance is Romeo and Juliet  by William Shakespeare.
I know this is not technically a romance but it is a play about serious romantic stuff and I have it in book form so it counts!
This story is surreal and I think everyone has something to learn from it!

4. Ariel - Name a book that's about making sacrifices and fighting for your dreams

For this one I chose Half-Blood by Jennifer L. Armentrout since the main characther, Alex, sacrifices everything to follow her dreams and to be able to love who she wants in an opressive society!
It's an example of persistence, perseverance and faith!

5. Belle - Name a book with a smart and independent female character

Ok, for this one I'm agreeing with Soudha because Anabelle Chase it's the smartest and most independent young woman in all the books that I've ever read!
She set and example for how every main female characther must be in order to show the world how women can be independent and strong!

6. Jasmine - Name a book with a character who challenged the social conventions of his or her world

This might not be an obvious choice but I chose Of Poseidon by Anna Banks. This book is all about challenging the law and fight for what's right!

7. Pocahontas - Name a book whose ending was a roller-coaster of emotions

And again we agree! Clockwork Princess, by Cassandra Clare is a hell of a roller-coaster of emotions! I cried trough the whole book and because of that I had to read it in my room when there wans't anybody home.... the feels... oh the feels...

8. Mulan - Name a book with a kick-ass female character

This book has to be Throne of Glass by Sarah J. Maas! Celaena Sardothien is a hell of an assassin but at the same time she's a girly girl! Don't beat me up for this but that Dorian... OMG...the feels are coming back...

9. Tiana - Name a book featuring a hardworking, self-made character
In my opinion Hannah from Philippa Gregorys book The Queen's Fool fits just right for this spot! She's hardworking and independent, taking care not only of herself but of others as well!

10. Rapunzel - Name a book that features an artist
This has to be City of Heavenly Fire by Cassandra Clare! Ok, I know miss Clarissa Fray, a.k.a. Clary, appears in all of The Mortal Instruments Series but I really like this one!
Clary is a natural artist, she sees the world in a different, sometimes odd, way!

11. Merida - Name a book that features a mother-daughter relationship
Love, Rosie  by Cecelia Ahern is a awesome example of a mother-daughter relationship! Rosie learns how to be a mother and the rest I can not tell you, since it would spoil the work of art....

12. Anna and Elsa - Name a book that features a great relationship between siblings

Ballet Shoes by Noel Streatfeild shows you the life of the Fossil sisters as they fight to succeed in life! The relationship between sisters is great and you can really feel how much they love each other!

Sorry for extremely long post and for my lack of posting but lately I have been drowning in school work, I'll manage....
Love you all!
