2019 TBR

So many new books are published every year, that I always find it difficult to select which books I should read and why. Very often I want to read too many books in a very short span of time and end up not having enough time to dedicate myself fully to reading. I always try to select my reading priorities, which usually end up being university readings. Having a list where I can just check what I already read brings me a somewhat strange sense of accomplishment. That list is my yearly TBR.

But what does TBR stand for? A TBR, or To Be Read, is a list that comprises the specific books that you wish to read. This list can be specific to a determined quantity of time, like a daily, weekly, monthly or yearly TBR. I believe that a TBR is an amazing way to start the new year since provides a set of reading goals for your year. Besides writing and sharing my own TBR posts, I love to read - or watch, or hear - to the ones other people in the book community share. Other people may - and probably will - have different TBR books than mine. Checking their TBRs allows me to discover new books that I might never have heard about otherwise.

The fact that I try to establish a yearly - and many times, monthly - TBR does not mean that I always know what book I should read next at a specific time or what I should read when I finish my current read. The list makes it easier for me to find a book that I am already interested in reading. This also allows me to have an overview of my reading diversity, making it easier to make adjustments when the need arises (I like to keep things diverse and interesting).

My 2019 TBR not only includes 2019 book releases but also books that were published in other years that I have an interest in reading. I like to look at this list as the foundation for my reading in 2019 and hope to build upon it as the year goes by. Below, you will find a list of 22 books (with the respective links, covers and summaries) but they are not the only literary works I intend to read in 2019. After all, my Goodreads Reading Challenge is set up for - at least - 50 books.

I hope you enjoy the TBR list I have compiled so far! Please do leave some suggestions in the comment section.
